Margaret recalls: Jenny running home from the State school. By the time Margaret had dropped Jenny in the classroom, she would run out another door, outside the school grounds on her way home. Jenny despised attending the State School which was a convenient walking distance from home. Unfortunately the family didn't own a second car and it was too far to walk to the Catholic school. Jenny would get stomach pains and feel sick. Margaret took her to the doctor and he carried out tests but to no avail. It appeared Jenny missed the nuns from St Teresa's Catholic school in Sunshine. Once we moved to Surrey Hills and she was back in the Catholic system at Our Holy Redeemer school, she was happy and well again!!
